bollywood.tv is an e-commerce portal with one of the largest online libraries of Bollywood and South Asian movies, clips, dramas and music videos. The company has the rights to exploit its content either by download, stream, via an IPTV service or to portable devices including mobile phones.
In addition to Bollywood content there are also movies in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam and Bengali as well as an exclusive range of Pakistani dramas. The target market for bollywood.tv is not only those living in India but more importantly the Indian Diaspora spread out across the world, all with the desire to watch movies from their homeland.
Based in London, bollywood.tv officially launched on 25 January 2008 and achieved ONE MILLION hits per month milestone in March 2008. There are currently 144,000 registered users which creates a huge opportunity to showcase new releases and drive advertising revenues.
In March 2008 the Company introduced cricket to the site where it showcased the Indian Cricket League Twenty20 (ICL) Season 1 via live streaming and archived matches. Also secured was the ICL Twenty20 World Series Season 1 featuring ICL India, ICL Pakistan and ICL World team. Season 2 of the ICL and ICL World Series Twenty20 will commence on 10 October 2008 which will feature 50 games over a 7 week period. The ICL content will be free to view with revenues being exploited from advertising and sponsorship.
