On 13 August 2024 the US Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) delivered its Second Final Written Decision on Assa Abloy’s (Petitioner) IPR2022-01045 and IPR2022-01089 and IPR2022-01006 Petition against the Company’s Remote Entry System patents, U.S. Patent Nos. 9,269,208 (“the ’208 Patent”) U.S. Patent 9,665,705 (the ‘705 patent’) in response to Assa Abloy’s Request for a Director Review of the PTAB’s Final Written Decisions in November and December 2023 for the “705 and “208’ and once again has found that none of the ‘705’ or ‘208’ Patent claims are unpatentable.
As a result of the PTAB’s decision all of CPC’s ‘208’ and ‘705’ Patent’s claims are patentable which confirms the PTAB’s original Final Written Decisions in November and December 2023.
